Crowsnest Pass Music Festival 2021
March 22 - 26   ON   ZOOM

Welcome to our site!
The Crowsnest Pass Music Festival is one of the longest running festivals in the Province of Alberta. The first festival took place in 1926. It is a member of Alberta Music Festival Association. A group of dedicated volunteers work hard each year to organize a successful event for local musical talent. Music students young and old get a chance to perform in front of an audience and an adjudicator. Adjudicators come from all over Canada and North America to provide constructive feedback, encouragement and a chance to be recommended for Provincial Music Festival in Edmonton, AB.

PRESIDENT'S LETTER

The 2019 CNP music festival was a great success due to a number of factors: the resiliency/adaptability, and the hard work of our board, the continued support of our community, and the volunteers.

We faced a number of challenges as a board, one being the sudden departure of a member (due to unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances) that left the festival in a slight predicament. Because each board member was able to pick up the jobs that the board member was no longer able to do the problem was absorbed.
The grand concert was fantastic and is consistently well organized by Chantelle Bowie. Sheila and Jerry continue to be the anchor that allows this ship to sail, port, and just exist. Krisztina, our faithful treasurer and do everything that needs to get done, has been a faithful and amazing board member. Michelle Pitt did the posters and also made sure that all of our media needs were taken care of. Brenda Davidson did a wonderful job on the awards and made sure that the trophies were ready for their recipients. Erin Fairhurst did an amazing job as the secretary and her well written agendas. Shari Rose has been a valuable new addition to the board this year and has now taken over the critical position of adjudicator liaison.
My own professional life took a very busy turn as I added a new school to my teaching docket, my life this year will take another sharp turn as I am returning to school myself to finish off my Bachelor of Music and start the process of beginning my Bachelor of Education. I am not sure of how this will impact my duties as president as I rely so heavily on the capabilities of the board.
I am looking forward to the 2020 festival and whatever high and low points there are.
Thank you for your support and hard work,
Tynan Groves
